Alamo Heights School Foundation Hall of Fame

We are excited to announce the launch of our new Hall of Fame program!

The AHSF Hall of Fame will be comprised of former students, faculty, administrators, and volunteers who have made significant achievements in many aspects of their lives. They have made selfless contributions of time, talent and treasure to their neighbors and community. If an AHISD teacher or administrator, they have made a positive and measurable impact on students and campus life far beyond their assigned duties. They are accomplished at the highest levels of their professions. Hall of Fame members have represented and fostered the ideals of giving and dedication to community, family, learning, and philanthropy.

These traits are the benchmarks by which the Selection Committee will evaluate each candidate in choosing the Hall of Fame honorees. The nomination period for the inaugural 2020 Hall of Fame is June 1, 2019 through August 29, 2019.

Recipients will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at our Reunite at Heights event on Saturday, February 29, 2020. For more information and to download the nomination form, please visit our Hall of Fame section by clicking HERE.

Thank a Teacher!

Teachers impact the lives of our students every day, and we’re giving you an easy way to say, “Thank You!” during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Between May 5 and May 11, make a gift to honor your teacher by texting “AHSF” to 56651.

If you’d like us to notify your teacher of your gift, leave their name in the comment box – you can even include a short “Thank You” message. You might even see your message on our Facebook page!

Martha Spoor Young Writers Workshop

Martha Spoor was a remarkable and beloved teacher at Alamo Heights Junior School, a teacher whose students and their families will never forget.  As a fitting tribute to her memory, the Alamo Heights School Foundation has established something special for budding writers.

We are honored to announce the ninth annual Martha Spoor Summer Writing Workshop, to be held this summer, in which 15-20 participants will meet for 5 days. The final day will involve a celebration of works in progress and finished works.

If you are a current AHJS sixth or seventh grader, you are enthusiastically encouraged to apply.
