Student Scholarships

  • Bob Ware Memorial Scholarship

    Bob Ware was the President of the 1970 AHHS Senior Class. When he died of leukemia in 1969, a scholarship was created in recognition of his contribution to the school and to honor his name. A special review committee nominates and selects the recipient. The recipient for 2019 is Parker Ambrose.

  • Oma E. Vordenbaum Scholarship

    Since 1978, the Oma E. Vordenbaum Scholarship has helped fund college expenses for qualified graduates of AHHS. Mrs. Vordenbaum taught English and sponsored the Student Council at AHHS. Two $2,000 scholarships are awarded each school year. The AHSF Scholarship Committee of the Resource Allocations Council selects recipients from applications that are submitted.

    The 2019 Vordenbaum Scholarship recipients are Emily May and Peyton Puhl.

    Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 Vordenbaum Scholarship. Applicants, available to graduating seniors, can apply at https://tinyurl.com/yanr6qen. The deadline is March 22, 2019 at 4:30pm CT.

  • W.W. and Anna May Campbell Scholarship

    This fund was received by AHSF in 1985. Multiple scholarships of varying amounts are awarded to graduates of AHHS who are at or above the college sophomore level at a state supported college or university. A special Campbell Committee is appointed to review applicants and award the scholarships.

    The 2019 Campbell Scholarship recipients are Austin Gay, Mitchell Katona, Reece Nations, Emily Stevens, Robert Stevens, Colin Sturrock, Brinnah Welmaker and Cameron Young.

    The purpose of the W. W. & Anna May Campbell Scholarship Fund of the Alamo Heights School Foundation is that it be an endowment fund whose income is to be given in the form of scholarships to graduates of Alamo Heights High School who:
    1) have achieved at least sophomore standing and are attending a state or other publicly supported college or university
    2) demonstrate financial need
    3) have maintained at least a C average
    4) have other qualities such as leadership, community involvement, work history and special professional qualifications.
