Excellence in education is the foundation of a strong community and AHISD continues to deliver top academic programs despite critical financial challenges brought by cuts in state funding. There is no better taxpayer investment than public education. Strong public schools create strong communities and a strong economy. Despite the challenge of state funding cuts here are few AHISD accolades:

  • Highest number of National Merit Scholars with 49 Juniors in various categories in the Fall of 2021
  • AHHS Rocketry Program earned the 2020 National Banner for Transonic Rocket
  • Hoofprint Newspaper was awarded the 2021 UIL Award of Distinguished Merit, which is the state's highest honor and the gold medal of publishing. It is the 14th year in a row AHHS Yearbook earned this award.
  • Dr. Jimmie Walker, Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction, was awarded a Bravo Award at the TCWSE State Convention for exemplary practice and innovation

The AHSF continues its mission to raise much-needed funds to ensure that AHISD remains one of the best school districts in the state.
