Anne Mortimer Ballantyne

Anne Mortimer Ballantyne is a lifelong member of the Alamo Heights community. She attended Alamo Heights schools from first through twelfth grade, graduating in 1969. As a student, she was a class officer and an active member of Chaps, Spurs, and the Service Club, and she was recognized by her peers as Most Representative Freshman and nominated for Most Representative Senior.

Anne’s deep commitment to Alamo Heights continued as a parent and volunteer. She and her husband, Steve, are the proud parents of three Alamo Heights ISD graduates - Patrick ’96, Katy ’98, and Brian ’03 - and Anne was a constant presence in their schools as a PTO leader, homeroom parent, and dedicated volunteer. Her service to education extended well beyond her children’s school years. She served nine years on the Alamo Heights ISD Board of Trustees and was a member of the Alamo Heights School Foundation Board from 2019 to 2025, including a term as president during the 2023–2024 school year.

Anne’s civic leadership has also had a lasting impact on the broader community. She devoted 18 years to the Terrell Hills City Council, including six years as mayor. In addition, she chaired and presided over major community events such as the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Battle of Flowers Parade, and she was elected to serve on the San Antonio Fiesta Commission.

Through decades of service to education, civic leadership, and community tradition, Anne Ballantyne has made a lasting contribution to Alamo Heights and the greater San Antonio area.
