Patti and Mark Mays

As AHISD parents, both Patti and Mark served on the Alamo Heights School Foundation Board. Patti also served each of the AH schools in various capacities, including PTO President at Howard Early Childhood Center and Vice-President at Cambridge Elementary. Patti has served on and chaired numerous committees including Visiting Author, Balloonfest, Springfest, Allocations, Parent-Teacher Liaison, and the Heights Academic Support Group. She also co-created and co-chaired the inaugural “Greater Heights Night”, the Alamo Heights School Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser. Mark served as a leader in Boy Scout Troop 809, coached several of their children’s teams, and helped launch the Business Incubator Program at the High School.

Mark is currently the CEO of Rocking M Capital and a Principal of Mays Family Enterprises. He previously held the positions of Chairman/CEO of Clear Channel Communications, a Multimedia Company in Radio, Outdoor, Television and Live Events. Patti was an elementary school teacher first in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, then at Northside Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas, before staying home to raise their children.

Patti and Mark attended Vanderbilt University, where Patti received her B.S. in Elementary and Special Education and Mark received his B.A. in Economics and Math. Mark later received his MBA in Finance and Accounting from Columbia University. While Patti’s volunteerism has been focused on their faith and school communities, Mark has served as a board member of the Mays Family Foundation, the Alamo Area Council of Boy Scouts of America, and Vanderbilt University

While still spending time in San Antonio, Patti and Mark currently reside in St. Louis, Missouri, where they continue to actively serve their family’s church and children’s school communities. They have six children, Ryan, Patrick, Daniel, Andrew, Matthew, and Maggie, and one grandchild.
